Night Broken by Patricia Briggs
Series: Mercy Thompson Series Book #8
Author: Patricia Briggs
An unexpected phone call heralds a new challenge for Mercy. Her mate Adam’s ex-wife is in trouble, on the run from a stalker. Adam isn’t the kind of man to turn away a person in need—and Mercy knows it. But with Christy holed up in Adam’s house, Mercy can’t shake the feeling that something about the situation isn’t right. Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when she learns that Christy has the farthest thing from good intentions. She wants Adam back and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including turning Adam’s pack against Mercy. Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. Christy’s stalker is more than a bad man—in fact, he may not be human at all. As the bodies start piling up, Mercy must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.
Review: I love this whole series, and this installment is certainly no exception! No matter how many books you read, you’re hard pressed to find a character like Mercy. Not only is she this strong bad-a!@ heroine, but she is not invulnerable. She has faults – and, as we discover in this one, an inherent grace of character as well. Not many women would accept an ex-wife into the home of their home with them and their husbands – and certainly not with the aplomb that Mercy showed! I know I couldn’t have been half as nice as Mercy was! Or as understanding! Or as sympathetic! Don’t get me wrong, she is far from a pushover – Mercy finds her own ways of getting her point across! (Oh, does she ever!…LOL)
If you haven’t read this series, I definitely recommend it! You won’t want to miss getting to know this fabulous character! Of course, I definitely recommend reading from the beginning of the series – and you won’t be sorry. This series is one of my absolute favorites to read! If your already fans, you already know how great this series is, and this one definitely lives up to the reputation of a Mercy book!
