This Week’s Most Anticipated

Lately not much has come out that really has me excited – enough so to be on the ‘most anticipated’ anyway. Or ones that slipped under my radar!!   But too many weeks have gone by without a post here, so I’ll feature a few that I think may perk your interest.

919oNh+UT+L._SL1500_Sherrilyn Kenyon is another one of my favorites – and have yet to figure out how she releases soo many books, sooo often!…She always seems to have a new release out – which is great for me, because I hate waiting for new books from my favorite authors!  And the best thing?…her writing never seems to go stale or hit a lag…!  I love her League series, and Born of Fury is a definite must read for that alone…:)

About the series:  Hell’s New HeroesIn the Ichidian Universe no one was safe. People were dragged from their homes and killed in the streets- victims of a ruthless tyrant who was bent on being the sole ruler of their entire empire. Those who opposed him and his army formed an alliance called The League which fell under the leadership of the Quorum.  After they put down the tyrant, the Quorum realized that the best way to keep trouble from starting was to cut it off at its head. A separate group of soldiers was needed, The League Assassins. Highly trained and highly valued, they are the backbone of the government.  But not even the League is immune to corruption…Welcome to a world where corrupt assassination politics dominate everything and everyone- because sometimes the cure really is worse than the illness. It’s kill or be killed. You’re either the hunter or the prey.  But there are those who will protect you. Men and women who come from the streets and from bloodied backgrounds of survival. You just have to decide is they’re better than the ones chasing you…Or worse.  Sarcastic, loyal, highly trained and lethal, these men and women are the next generation of heroes. They know how to laugh in the face of madness and danger, and to endure the worst The League and their enemies can hurl at them. Most of all, they know to fight and protect.  The war is on…Born of Fury is preceded by Born of Night, Born of Fire, Born of Ice, Fire & Ice, Born of Shadows, Born of Silence, and Cloak & Silence.

Blurb from Born of Fury:  Counted among the fiercest Andarion warriors ever born, Hauk is one of the five founding members of the Sentella: an organization that has declared war on the League. They rule the Ichidian universe with an iron fist and terrify it with an army of well-trained assassins. Hauk’s enemies are legion, but he fears nothing and no one. He will do whatever it takes to survive and protect his Sentella brethren.  Sumi Antaxas is one of the best assassins the League has ever trained. In her world, failure is not an option and she has never met a target she couldn’t execute. So when she’s assigned Hauk, she believes it’ll be a quick and easy mission. But nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Hauk is far better skilled than any she’s faced before.

81PBUMr6QWL._SL1500_I love Keri Arthur, and with Fireborn we see the kickoff for a whole new series!  Can’t wait!

About the series:  We are introduced to heroine Emberly Pearson—a phoenix capable of taking on human form, and cursed with the ability to foresee death…Fireborn is the first in a new series, Souls of Fire.

Blurb for Fireborn:  Emberly has spent a good number of her many lives trying to save humans. So when her prophetic dreams reveal the death of Sam, a man she once loved, she does everything in her power to prevent that from happening. But in saving his life, she gets more than she bargained for.  Sam is working undercover for the Paranormal Investigations Team, and those who are trying to murder him are actually humans infected by a plague-like virus, the Crimson Death—a by-product of a failed government experiment that attempted to identify the enzymes that make vampires immortal. Now, all those infected must be eliminated.  But when Emberly’s boss is murdered and his irreplaceable research stolen, she needs to find the guilty party before she goes down in flames…

81yksez2SmL._SL1500_It hasn’t been long since I discovered Thea Harrison and her Elder Races series, but I’ve read enough to know that I’m going to pick up any and all of her books!  This latest edition, Peanut Goes To School, is only a novella, but hey, I’ll take what I can get!…;)

About the series:  Set in a world where Light and Dark Fae, Nightkind, Demonkind, and Wyr live, work and love right alongside humans….Peanut Goes To School is preceded by Dragon Bound, Storm’s Heart, Serpent’s Kiss, True Colors (novella), Oracle’s Moon, Natural Evil (novella), Devil’s Gate (novella), Hunter’s Season (novella), Lord’s Fall, The Wicked (novella), Kinked, Dragos Takes A Holiday (novella), and Pia Saves The Day (novella).

Blurb for Peanut Goes To School:  Dragos Cuelebre is no longer the only dragon.
Dragos’s son Liam Cuelebre (a.k.a. Peanut) is springing into existence, reminiscent of the first of the Elder Races who were born at the beginning of the world. At just six months of age, he has already grown to the size of a large five-year-old boy. He can read, write in complete sentences, and his math skills are off the chart.
A white dragon in his Wyr form, Liam also holds more Power than almost anyone else. In an effort to give him a taste of normality, no matter how fleeting, his parents Pia and Dragos enroll him in first grade.
They hope school will help teach Liam how to relate to others, a vital skill that will help him control his growing Power. But school has a surprising number of pitfalls, and relating to others can be a tricky business.
When a classmate is threatened, Liam must quickly learn self-control, how to rein in his instincts, and govern his temper, because there’s no doubt about it—he is fast becoming one of the most dangerous creatures in all of the Elder Races.
